Believe it or not, a cool home in the summertime starts with your windows!
From the sils in your kitchen to that oval window in your bathroom, there
are many different transparent features in your home that will let light
(and heat) enter! If you’re looking for a way to save some cash
this summer, then here are some window cooling “hacks” to know:

Keep the Blinds Closed

Tempted to open the blinds (or shades) on the sunniest of days? Believe
it or not, that’s a surefire way to heat your home! Although this
“hack” will be the perfect practice in the wintertime, it’s
certainly not the most critical solution for summer.

Resolution? Keep your blinds/shades fully closed. This will not only cease
powerful rays from heating your home, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised
at how it will keep it, too!

Get Blackout Curtains

Another window cooling “hack” to keep in mind? Purchase some
blackout curtains for those overly-sunny rooms! If you feel that you’ve
never seen these curtains before, you most certainly have! Think about
every vacation you’ve been on: hotels use these curtains to keep
the sunlight out of your room until you decide to open the curtains!

Relatively inexpensive, you can purchase these curtains at any home improvement
store or online. Additionally, these helpful “shields” come
in a variety of colors and patterns, and will undoubtedly do the job!
You’ll be in awe of how great these curtains can be and how much
energy your
A/C unit will be saving!

Tint Your Windows

Looking for a way to beat the heat, but let the sunshine in your home?
The simplest solution is to get some window film! Sold at a variety of
home improvement stores, this unique tinted material will come in a form
similar to wrapping paper.

Once you acquire some window film, you’ll be able to cover any window
pane that inhabits your home. The process is somewhat simple; think about
wrapping a present that just happens to be your window pane. After you’ve
created the perfect window tinting, you’ll then be able to enjoy
the summer sunshine without the increase in temperature!
